Hey Guys

This is my biggest rant and really gets me mad.

Most of the time if a car pulls out in front of me or nearly knocks me off by changing lanes without looking the reason for it is generally because the driver is using his/her mobile. This causes me to get a little of what racers call the red mist. It makes me so angry that a driver has nearly killed me just because they could not wait to make or take that call.

Recently, this happened so the car stopped at traffic lights and I pulled up next to them knocked on the drivers window and asked if they really hadn't seen me. Had they just been lazy and pulled out in front of me because he had an emergency he needed to get to, was he a doctor or was he just an idiot. An idiot that could have made my son an orphan, had it been raining I would not have been able to stop so quickly. He threw his phone in complete shock across the passanger seat, he was a young lad and I think I got my point across.

The flip side of this is that I took a huge gamble in shouting at the guy. After this happened I was told off by my husband (Nick) I should never have reacted that way the guy could have been as aggressive as I was and I could have put myself in even further danger.

I have spoken lately to some Bike Safe Policemen and I told them about my out burst and they of course agreed with Nick but they gave me some great advice. The Sussex Police have a link on their website that if you see someone using their mobile whilst driving try to do this. If you can stop asap write down the reg, make of car, date and time then add these details to the website. The Police monitor the site and if the same car has 3 or more flags on it from 3 people at 3 or different times they send them caution in the post. That is the start then of that driver being watched and further action can be taken by the police.

People like that kill people like us. Ride safe and catch the b*******s

For those out there looking for a new challenge, to lose weight or to just learn something new then have you thought about Taekwon Do? Hear is my Taekwon Do Training Diary as it is a great thing to take up. Great excercise, ethos as well as self defense.

Your right about the police web site it works.

My son was riding his scooter around the town when three ar'''oles threw coke over him at a set of traffic lights, then chased him around town deliberately trying to cause him to crash, he stopped and they then threatend him. We used the website and it turned out this car and owner was already known for this sort of bad driving, and I had a call from the police who told me they had issued a section 59 or something like that. This meant that the next offence would render the driver car-less as they would crush it. Brilliant.
So sometimes things can work for us.

Hi Magnum,

I am so sorry your poor son had to go through that it must have been really scarey. Well done for reporting them lets hope they are stupid enough to do it again without hurting anyone and the bloody car will be crushed.

Send us more details about this as I am interested in doing something in the magazine about it. More riders need to know about this and get them to use the website.

Thanks

Sorry Debbie, missed your reply the site address is www.opertioncrackdown.org.

The green Corsa driver N***FUF has now been seen driving more slowly and sheepishly around town since this episode, and my son is now in the Army and will be with the Paras next year so I don't think he will suffer the same again!
