Suzuki SV650Sport '09I passed my test back in Feb'08 and had bought a GS500F but by Sept'08 I was a little bored with it. This day I had gone into P K Motors in Tunbridge Wells to get my bike serviced. As I was waiting I noticed they had a delivery of new bikes and a bright blue bike caught my eye. Wrapped in brown cardboard was a beautiful SV650S, they unpacked it for me and that was when I knew I had to buy it. I had to wait 3 months before I could afford the bike but P K were great they looked after her for me and changed a few things for me too.
January 2009 the blue and white SV650S was mine, modified handle bars instead of the clip on's as the SV has quite a long reach from seat to handle bars. This just gives me a little more flexibility with the seat position and to give her a deep growl the can was changed to a Remus.
That was the most expensive service I have ever had but the best decision I have ever made. The SV650S is fully faired and looks sporty with the removable pillion seat that can be replaced with a matching tail tidy. The bike is a twin which makes it light to handle at low speed as well as when the engine is off. The twin gives the bike a great sound with the Remus exhaust and when we filter drivers hear me before they see me.
For new riders the bike is easy to ride but by no means boring, I have ridden other mid range bikes that are easy to ride but that's as far as they go. The SV gives you a little bit of attitude if you are too heavy on the back brake or give a little too much power coming out of a corner. I say the bike is talking to me, it says "let's go, come on let's go". These bikes are popular for racing as they are light and slimmer than other 600 sports bikes.
If you get the chance to test an SV650S give it a try and see if it fits you like it does me. Buying a bike I think is such an emotional purchase and I love my bike.
