I have one for people out there. My son aged 5 has a few times been to Bike Smart in Haywards Heath with me, he also love my bike almost as much as I do. When seeing Pete at the shop and talking, Pete offered to drive Leo (my son) around his training Pad so he can say he has been on a bike which is nice. I have also been saying to Leo about maybe letting him learn to ride as a child on a mini bike or something but not before he could ride his pushbike of course!!
This gave him renewed interest in the pushbike and he has been practising lots, I hope to take the stabilisers off soon and let him fall over and wobble his way towards riding the push bike in that terrified feeling we all remember :)
After that I feel quite happy to potentially allow him to learn on a mini bike and possible get one of the mini moto bikes or similar to do this, however we do not own a farm or land and I suspect him riding round our garden would be asking for trouble.
My question therefore is where do kids learn? I see clips on youtube and all kinds of other places of small kids, tehy even race etc.. But where? and how? Do I need to be a farmer with land or loaded and join a race club or something??
Any Ideas or suggestions out there????
