I rode to work the other day and my zx6-r developed a severe reluctance to change up,down or into neutral.
Luckily all I had to do was dismantle footrest/gearchange linkage and clean, polish and regrease it, and it was like new.
Thank christ I didn't have to dismantle the clutch/gearbox, as it was sounding like a return spring problem, which is internal.

Moral of the story.....Check the simple things first!

For those out there looking for a new challenge, to lose weight or to just learn something new then have you thought about Taekwon Do? Hear is my Taekwon Do Training Diary as it is a great thing to take up. Great excercise, ethos as well as self defense.

Everything you just said was a different language to me at least it didn't turn into a huge job. Mind you that to me sounds like it was a huge job.

Glad I saw this post. I was having problems on the ride to the Excel centre last saturday as I was struggling to get down through the gears sometimes and getting into 1st was the hardest. Thsi of course caused me some problems off the line bu the worst one was when on the ride there was a last minute need to stop at traffic light and I ended up in 6th gear at the lights and I could not get down through the gears at all!!!

Last minute I managed to get through the gears by kicking ten tons of crap out of the gear lever but it was a special moment at a major set of traffic lights.

When I came home and saw this post about the sticking joint although i did not dismantle the joint I did drown it in Gt50. the next day whilst out for a ride the gear were working as they should.

Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!LOL LOL
