Not a lot of “Good” in the Area apart from being on the bike when ever possible. Far too crowded with cars, lorries, coaches of all nationalities. Road surfaces are bad to down right dangerous. Collapsed drain covers, pot holes inches deep, diesel spills, road foundations in three bits due to, (in my opinion), cowboy cable layers and incompetent civil servants. Why O why do they not put them beside the road? One thing I have noted, dare I say it, the motorists seem to be more aware of us who are on two wheels, that is apart from the youngsters in vehicles far too fast for their driving skills. Encouraging never the less.

Home is Shadoxhurst, so see a lot of Europeans driving, probably for the first time, on the left. Witnessed yet another near miss on one of the roundabouts in Dover. A German car drove straight into the R.B. as a car was coming round it. A few signs advising the elementary rules etc. on the exits of the docks would help stop accidents. The same applies to British drivers across the channel.

Ridden quit a few miles over the other side. Don’t know what you Guys feel, but have found the Dutch and Belgians are the not the best drivers. The French and Germans are the best, fast but predictable. My little contribution to European unity.!

Not sure how much longer I can ride, perish the thought. Born 1931, can still get the leg over, (the bike I refer to) .So if you see a bald headed old git with clattering teeth about to fall off his Blackbird take pity on me please, we all get there in the end, if we are lucky. Glad I have subscribed,
Ronald Foreman

For those out there looking for a new challenge, to lose weight or to just learn something new then have you thought about Taekwon Do? Hear is my Taekwon Do Training Diary as it is a great thing to take up. Great excercise, ethos as well as self defense.
