Hi All

I am in the process of setting up a new website, I have hired a graphics man to make me a design and I am busy building databases and writing geeky code!

What is the site about I hear you cry!!! Well, as someone new to biking I have recently also needed to do a lot of work on the bike (painting, body work, new plastics) and to get all this done I needed the information that only seemed to be work of mouth to locate all the people that I needed!! Therefore I am creating a site that is All Things Motorcycle and my plan is set up a place where you can find all the people and people that are relevant to bikers for paint, mot's, training, insurance, forums, shops, kit etc etc etc...

I therefore would like to open the floor to one and all and offer an opportunity for people to add in their view as to what would be useful, what would make this site the bible for bikers?

LET ME KNOW YOUR THOUGHTS - I am happy to make amendments, add sections etc as I want this to be useful for bikers to be able to get what they need all in one place and so people that are new to biking and limited to a few biker friends can locate all the great info that long term bikers already have such as knowing that wemoto is a good buying site and a list of suggest painters for when you get a scratch on the tank!

Please one and all, let me know your viewsDrool Drool

I want to go faster, I want to go faster..

For those out there looking for a new challenge, to lose weight or to just learn something new then have you thought about Taekwon Do? Hear is my Taekwon Do Training Diary as it is a great thing to take up. Great excercise, ethos as well as self defense.

Yeah ya waffled about this last night, hehe.

When I had the same idea a few years ago, I thought it would be really useful (amongst other things) to have a Cafe database! BigGrin Be really handy to either have a map view or a pulldown to select your area and see a list of cafes on there, even if it's just a van! You could even have another list for Cream Tea outlets Cool for the more discerning rider.

A bikes for sale area would be good too, as well as parts, it could be labelled "what's in your Garage/Kitchen". People could flog stuff without the usual online auction site taking 10-15% off the top!

May be a 'what bike clubs are near you' might be good too, especially for people still wet behind the ears. Bored

I've got other ideas, but I need to go back to work!

As for this forum, when I clicke 'more smilies' (in Firefox v3.6.3 on OS XP Pro SP3) it would be handy if it didn't open a massive window I have to scroll around to locate the extra smilies. Just a thought Flapper

A guy wins some vouchers from a forum and then start typing essays every where!! Bring it on!!

I agree with the comments about the new site. That is one of the sections I am building, I have set up a database of towns, counties and countries and will also be creating ares such as South East, then every part of the site will allow you to see whatever you are interested in by area if you want and so that should work out quite well. Once section is biker friendly food and drink and others. If you want to have a look at very top level sections have a look at www.allmotorcyclestuff.com and you can see the list so far.

I have got a guy working on the physical design which is going really well I think and so I will then code up the site as it goes. If you want to throw in your 2 penneth then feel free, i am sure we could meet for a beer if you are interested. I spoke with Pete and he had some ideas that again are along the lines of what I had in mind but I am expecting this site to get very large as I am aiming for it to be a national site rather then local.

I want to go faster, I want to go faster..

hehe, well vouchers do get me going!

Well you're going along the right lines in my opinion, barely anything useful to add! I tried having a little look at the site, but it seems your servers not turned on!

Good luck with the website and next time I'm around your area I'd be happy to talk bollards with you! It's always tricky with website suggestions isn't it, so many people think that what they say is right - normally with little or no previous experience!

Good idea, you could list private mechanics, and how about local dealer reviews? Customer services, how they dealt with warranty or mechanical problems both in and out of warranty?
That would be a hit, some dealers are crap, arrogant and full of self importance.
But there are some decent ones hidden out there.
It could also cover manufacturers and how they dealt with warranty claims.
Also reliability, are Ducatis reliable, is the FJR over priced at £14499:00.
Why did Kawasaki bring out a semi-automatic when the FJR/A was a failure.

Loads of stuff could be covered and cross linked to SEB?
Go for it..................................................
