Is it worth considering a discussion point on where the latest hotspots are reference speed traps, hidden unmarked police cars/patrols are basing themselves so as to minimise the chances of being caught speeding intentionaly or otherwise? I got my first endorsement for over 20yrs last summer coming back from a short tour of europe, I had over taken a coach just outside of Icklesham on the Winchelsea to Hastings section, where a hidden police car caught me doing slightly over the speed limit(69 in a 60 was the quoted speed, 10% plus didn't work in this case). He was hidden in the layby on the right, and I got pulled over in Ore by the B&Q store by two bike cops.
Had I known they used this spot, I would have held back and waited till the layby was out of sight, but the road was empty and it was safe to overtake, but this didn't make any difference.
So what does SEB forum members think?

I have to agree. The sad news is that apparently there will be a target on bikers in Sussex this summer!!! I would like there for be some logic that maybe they would not do you if you are on an empty road in a quiet time!!!!

Anyway I think this could be a plan and if others agree I am actually happy to set up a new section for just this subject. Personally I rarely see any of the boys in blue but am a bit careful as the pipes are a little on the loud side.... Go for it...Drool Blink Cool

I do think it might be a good idea to have a section see how it goes this year and if it doesn't take off then remove it?
I have to be a bit careful too as the my system is a little loud as well.
I have to admit to taking as many off the main route roads as possible, because they are or should I say were national speed limited, but as we know these are disappearing as quick as our enconomy.
We have to but up with revenue placed cameras, there are more average speed cameras being introduced, and europe want to revsit the 100 bhp law, shame they couldn't consider limiting their 5 series to 100bhp, that would never be allowed would it?
Oh how I like a good rant now and again.

I wonder how many cameras and police we see on the Army Benevolent run on the 29th?

Rant over and out.

I've seen a whole gaggle of rozzers on either side of coolham crossroads on the A272 west of Buckbarn crossroads on saturday mornings early ish. There were two speed traps in either direction with two bikes and four cars..........Talk about overkill!

What....................... 4 police bikes pulled 4 sports bikes 13:16, Saturday 22nd heading westbound A27, just past the closed BP station just after the Kingston roundabout.

4Yes 4 police bikes what is going on, and yet the idiot who passed me at +70 in a 50 in his Golf sporty thing ,on his mobile phone and no seat belt, drives around without a care in the world, why because he is in a car...........?? What and why cannot sussex police do something about car drivers breaking the laws? We never see them target these idiots.
Last week I saw an overturned lorry at Beddingham, obviously driving too fast, a car off the road on the 272, and some twat in a freelander deliberately driving to push another car off the road because he had overtaken him.
I bet none of them were threatened with Section 59, for speeding, thats reserved for us bikers alone? See link below

My respect for the Sussex Police Force is waining.

That section 59 does look rather like an issue. Basically it means the pc is able to say today, you are naughty and then tomorrow scrap yuor bike. How is that fair!!!!!!

Thats the BIG ISSUE, a copper can make a decision baised or not, that can effectively take away something you have spent years paying for because he decides that your being agressive towards other road users, i.e Overtaking them, riding to the speed limit but in their eyes too fast.
If we were across the river in France, then no doubt we could hold mass go slows without fear of section 59, as our french brothers did over filtering, when they made that illegal. Slowed down the periferie( don't know the correct spelling, but what i meant was the french version of the M25 around gay Paris?).
Maybe next time we see a police car speeding without lights and sirens then we should report it under section 59 and then they can take their own car/bike away and crush it themselves???

That is a fair comment as quite often see police cars speeding withouth blues or 2's so surely they are breaking the law??

I am going to join in the M25 go slow for the parking fees but maybe 59 should be the next one, maybe bikers should agree a go slow around the M25 every week and sort out some balance of power?

I want to go faster, I want to go faster..

Quite frequently spotted on A2300 towards Burgess Hill - police camera van.
Coming from A23 Hickstead it's after the Goddards Green roundabout - just on the bend before St. Paul's School and Triangle Sports centre. It's a 60 mph limit so be on the lookout.
