Hi Guys,

BIKERS! WE NEED YOU Saturday 29th May 2010

South East Biker will be riding from London to Dover on A roads and we need over 100 bikers.
We want to create as much publicity as possible for the Army Benevolent fund (ABF) and collect donations on the way.

You don’t have to do the whole ride just join us for some of it. This will be a great way to raise money for our brave soldiers, have an enjoyable day on your bike with your mates and other riders.
We are hoping to get some news coverage and the more riders the more impact we can make.

If you are interested in joining us on the ride and would like details please contact
South East Biker Magazine.

Please arrive at Ryka's at eleven to register. We plan to leave at 12, drop by Oakdene around 1-1.30 to pick up some riders then on the Motorcycle Cafe on the A2 south of Canterbury for lunch. We will finish just north of Dover at The Duke of York Brewers Fayre pub on the roundabaout just before the town around 4-4.30.

Hi
Just out of interest, is there any advertising/stickers/logo's/flags, and the like, for the bikes, or should we try and do something ourselves.

Regards
Ray

Hi Guys,

Thank you all for the great support. The ride is really coming together now and looks like could be a good few bikes. We now have the backing from Surrey and Kent Police to give us an escort on our journey. The response we had at the May day run was amazing and could see numbers well over 100.

The main purpose of this event is to
1) Escort Bill Allan on his way from London to Iraq and back on his bike and get sponsorship for the trip.

The main reason for me is that the Armed Forces have not seen the injuries they are seeing now since the First World War. Amputations have increased over 33% since the Iraq/Afghan conflict started. Furthermore since the push into Helmend province in January this year it has risen to 45% and the rehabilitation centres can't cope. That is when the ABF the Soldiers Charity steps in to help the injured soldiers to convert their homes and cars as this is not given by the Government.

So please, if you would like to get a sponsorship form let me know or you can make a donation on the day. All riders need to be at Boxhill by 11am to register and for us to collect the donations and we will leave at 12noon sharp.

Hope to see you all there.

Debbie

Could you attach a sponsor form please.
And just out of curiousity, why such a late start?

The Sponsorship forms are on the facebook group or if you send me an email I will send one to you. My email is debbie@southeastbiker.co.uk

As I said earlier we are escorting Bill Alan who is riding from London to Iraq and that is the time he would like to start his journey.

As I have organised this one myself I had a number of issues to take into mind.
1) Bill and the time he has booked his ferry as he did not want to take an earlier ferry.

2)I had to appreciate that some riders are coming from Dover/Portsmouth areas to Rykas to be at the start the ride. I felt that it was only reasonable to give them time to get there.

3) Every rider has to be registered, sell the T-shirts, collect the donations, give out screen signs maps and a rider briefing before we can leave.

I myself, my husband Nick and Peter (South East Biker Team), will be at Rykas from 10.30 so we can do all the above before we leave. If we have the numbers that have been predicted we'll need that time to do everything necessary.

So PLEASE can riders turn up between 10.30-11am so we can leave on time. As I am sure most of you can understand it takes a lot of organising for a ride of this scale but I hope that everyone will dig deep for our soldiers and donate well.

ALL THE PROFITS FROM THE DAY WILL BE GOING TO THE ABF, THE SOLDIERS CHARITY.

I would like to THANK SO MUCH the Kent IAM riders that will be donating their time and petrol to the charity to help marshall the ride.

Thanks

Debbie
