My bike is an 02 ZX6R A1P which I think is also known as a J3 in the US. Confused This is only my second bike and so my experience is limited but in a short statement I LOVE IT.

The first bike I was recommended to get as a good first bike was a Suzuki SV 650. I therefore bought this as I knew nothing about bikes. The one I bought was a nice looking yellow one with braded brake cables (remember i knew nothing!), I did take a mate (biker) with me to make sure I was not buying the lemon that the colour was Flapper But I am an impatient bugger and so be honest if it had an engine and 2 wheels I would have bought it. That bike was a nice ride and I think it had about 100bhp and so felt like it shifted quite nicely.

THEN I GOT THE ZX6R 636. Remembering of course that I am still a relative learner the difference between these 2 bikes was amazinging. After about 6 months of the SV650 I was getting a bit bored and looked into getting what my mate had which was a ZX6R. I saw this one on ebay and long story short ended up buying it! When i test rode it I had to get my mate to try it as well as the steering was so light that I thought it might have a problem.

As a relative new boy still to bikes I found I was MUCH MORE confident going round bends and starting to lean in and so enjoyed the bike so much more!!! The acceleration is huge fun and now, 9 months later I still love my bike. I am looking forward to it stopping raining as well so that I can lean in again without fear of a slip but it is great. I think the stats say it is 0-60 in 3.4 seconds but to be honest who cares, all I know is it accelerates like a demon, I love pulling up next to cocky little buggers in the supped up cars and driving off into the distance.

The acceleration is mad, the top speed is meant to be in the region of 160, I have not (and will not) be getting anywhere close to that but I can tell this is a powerfull machine. Those other old farts out there will accept that a sports bike is maybe not the best bike for the daily commute but i struggle to get off the bike in the winter when it is just so much fun to ride. Regrdlesss of the weather I will be keep riding this bike!!

Thinking of getting one of these ?? DO IT. I do not regret mine, at some point I will have to replace it and being the child I am I will just get a larger version I would imagine. As philosophy I have always live with is... IF IT AIN'T BROKE - DONT FIX IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
